Bathroom Signs

Assignment in Image Making class was to create bathroom signs based on some kind of gender difference theme, whether it be political, anatomical, cultural, sexual, etc. The aim was not to make a practical bathroom sign, but to explore gender identity.

This theme was based on jobs/roles. So office worker man, skilled in economics. But has a sexual reference with the placement of the arrow. And nurse, skilled in health with a sexual reference based on the placement of the red cross.

This theme was based on historical figures. Hitler with the Nazi swastika and a skull to represent his ambitions to kill undesirable people. Chanel logo to represent Coco Chanel and a heart for her support for feminine fashion.

Pretty straightforward. I don’t mean to offend anyone at all. Honestly, the deadline and workload leading up to these 2 final images nearly ruined me and by the time I finished the preliminary work, I just wanted to get this finished as soon as possible.
