Oolong's Art & Design

The first drawing of the new year.

I meant to draw a nengajo to welcome 2014. But I have a couple of urgent matters to attend to, so it’ll have to be put on hold.

Today has been an incredibly frustrating day and overall, 2013 has been full of learning experiences that came with a lot of emotional changes. It wasn’t a great year, but it wasn’t terrible either.

Though this year, I’d like to do more and get out more, I also want some more quiet moments, thus this drawing.

Photo reference from STRATO.

Time: 1.5 hours
Media: Graphite, ZEBRA Sarasa ballpoint gel pen

Love the use of the lines to bring out the form. It makes the simplistic nature of it far more complex. 🙂

Thank you! I thought about drawing an outline, but I decided just shading it might look more interesting.

You should definitely follow your gut instincts. 😉
